Come one, come all! We have (almost) finished our guest bedroom!!
We will be the first to admit that selecting paint colors for our old farmhouse has been a bit of a challenge for us. All of the woodwork in the home has a natural wood appearance, and we want to maintain the integrity of the original build. When we see beautiful photos of farmhouse-style homes that have white painted trim, it can be tempting to jump on the bandwagon. However, we have made the decision to leave it as it is! It has such beautiful character and detail, so why try to change that?!
This bedroom is situated on the south side of our home, allowing it to have an abundance of natural light. We really wanted this room to end up as a serene retreat for our guests. We felt the best way to do that was by bringing some natural and blue undertones into the room.
To top it off, we were able to use the refinished desk and dresser that were featured in our previous blogposts. We also had a special canvas painting made by Melissa's late great-grandma, Hazel, that we wanted to serve as the centerpiece for bedroom. This room not only has a lot of sentimental pieces incorporated into it, but it also has a few new items added to it to give it a more updated look.
The last detail that we would like to add to this room is a four-poster bed. Ethan would eventually like to create a design that ties into the existing furniture, so we will see what he comes up with! Stay tuned!
